These are from some random art show my friend took me to early this year at UTEP. I love picking out the little things that the artists do in their displays to guide our emotional reactions. Like the dramatic draping of the canvas in the first shot for instance.
So recently, in preparation of my inevitable move north, I’ve been going through alot of my things and getting rid of the unwanted and/or useless crapola that I’ve somehow accumulated in my year of living here . . . its ridiculous. . . seriously . . . However! Doing so brought to mind a painting I saw at an art show early in the summer and forgot to post. Oh how this statement rings true.
Unfortunately I was not able to go to chalktheblock due to my trip to Denver. . . BUT! This doesn’t mean that I didn’t get to enjoy it! U see, I had a mole. . . . a spy if you will. Whatever you want to call it I had someone get documentation! I was really awed by some of the things there, check it out!
As crazy as it seems, Youngstown Ohio is actually bustling with art! The city is dotted with little artistic treasures which require digging! (those are the best treasures to find, no I take that back the best would be those that entail actual digging, like with a shovel) Last year before I moved My sister and I found one of these treasures! Nestled in an old warehouse downtown is an art studio! Here many local artists have their personal studios and workshops. A few times a year their genius is open to the public where you can take part in the creative process! Here are some photos of the show! If you live in the area and would like some more info shoot me an email and I’ll get back to you with details!
